Needle Eye of Definition

I sat in division’s wooden pew
drinking a wine glass filled
with “I’m unworthy” until
my mind rebelled at bondage.

The love my heart held couldn’t
fit through the needle eye
of a narrow definition.

I ran from closed minds
to bloom in unconditional.

Pictures of a Silver Lining

A Beautiful face,
a theater of eyes
and smiles, captures
my heart with
its animation.

When anxious days
cloud with shrouds
of dismay, I dance
among images of light
pressed between
glass and frame.

She is my child, a gift
filled with bursts of laughter,
a tigeress with comedic timing,
arms that hug away the hell
riffling through my spirit.

A beautiful face, a theater of eyes
and smiles, erasing pain until
I can feel the silver lining.

Choir of Flesh and Metal

Frogs serenade from the swamp
in a throaty competition with
jet engines steaming the sky.

The choir of flesh and metal
sings of ancient wisdom and
the frenzied wings of escape.

Graffiti of Complaints

"Life seems but a quick succession of busy nothings." ~ Jane Austen

I twist hours around my fingers
and forget where I’ve been
when I arrive at the latest
catastrophe grown from a mole hill.

Life has become walking against
the wind of someone’s must do,
must think, must agree.

When did EvEryThing have to matter?
We are wallpapered with the graffiti of complaints.
Where is peace?

The Song Of A Rose

She blossoms in the
tile echo of midnight
and the needle drip
of medicine seeking
a vein to riddle.

When the valley seems too long
her voice steals the breath from doubt
to fill the air with the music of healing.

A beautiful porcelain skin rose
she transcends the concrete garden
where why never finds an answer
and sings a new song of morning.
