Nylon Admiral

It wasn’t character,
bravery or service
that earned the stars
upon his shirt.

It was fingers dipped in lives
mixed with the paste of lies
that created the mud
he floated upon to promotion.

Dubbed the Nylon Admiral
for his skill at discovering
digital stowaways in lace and affairs,
he commanded his fleet smugly
across his perilous sea of blackmail.

This is a lot of fun, yet there is something very real in your character sketch, which verges on satire.

Befitting of the material...a plastic tragic tale...great job, Susie...I love this section, "It was fingers dipped in lives mixed with the paste of lies"

What an interesting turn your mind took on this prompt! Great write and I'd not thought of it but I believe Kerry is right.

"fingers dipped in lives" sounds dreadful, Susie. Well said. Blackmail is a very scary thing, and your description of it is ominous.
A surprising write, but super.

I thought this was, frankly, terrific; there's enough whimsy to satisfy the spirit of the prompt, but there's a lot of meat on the bones as well.

How cleverly you enveloped a character's traits in these lines. I loved it. The intrigue was rampant. :)
